My 06 wont get heat to the floor even after removing the blend door. Looking for the control arm that operates the plenum. Anyone know what is involved?

your doors are the problem that is the only thing that will keep it from changing you have to pull the heater control box completely out of the and then take it apart to install the new ones if you pull it put all the doors in it that is what I did plus I put a new heater core and ac core in while was in it here is a link to doors Dodge Ram 2500 3500 STEERING LINKAGE UPGRADE KIT MOPAR GENUINE OEM

The blend door doesn't have anything to do with heat going to the floor or not. The blend door controls how much incoming air flows over the heater core and thus the temperature of the air.

Mode doors 1 and 2 control the airflow. Mode door 1 routes air away from the main part of the system (the main vents) and into the secondary system (the defrost and floor vents). Mode door 2 then controls whether the air flows to the defrost or to the floor.

No airflow to the floor is almost always a sign of mode door 2 failure. Unfortunately, mode door 2 is the one door that cannot be repaired without removing the entire air box system which as more than a job. A quote from Heater Treater....."Most people find it easier to wear two pairs of socks than to replace or repair mode door 2."

If you want some detailed info about the process, search "Heater Treater Dodge Ram" on Youtube. I haven't watched them in a while but I assume they are still there.

05cummins, have you attempted this yet? My past two Rams had the hvac issues. My current Ram hasn't broken yet but I'm thinking next summer will be dash removal time and replace all the doors.

Dodge used cheap plastic on the door pivot points, it turned brittle & broke off

Sadly some people are replacing those same plastic pieces with other OEM plastic pieces from Dodge & in those older Dodges, they are also going to break again

The Heater Treater brand uses metal in place of the plastic pieces

Hey man, I got most of my dash apart and decided that I can deal with less heat on my side since the back heat and passenger heat still works and fully fix it in the spring. I did remove enough dash to get my hand on the motor linkage, so I was able to move it a little bit and I do have heat on my floor now. But its mixed between defrost and floor all the time until i switch to vents, even the blend for floor and vents is only floor as well. so i just keep it on floor for now. and it all only works on 4th speed now too, I dont have 1, 2 and 3 fan speed now. I got some work to do, but apparently the switch the speed should be easy enough to get as long as the factory amp isnt in the way of it. but currently -26 before windchill...i will wait haha
