The only reason that I know of for compressor cycling in hot weather is that there isn't enough refridgerant in the system and it's shutting down because the low pressure cutoff switch is being triggered.. But then I could be wrong.

Yes, I've read that as well. However, most people with that issue have their compressor cycle at 1-2 second intervals, which is DEF short cycling. I'm not sure if mine, at 6-7 seconds intervals is short cycling or not.

It sound like it is quick cycling ( low on freon) low psi
or to high psi and going out on safety
put on a set of gages

Well, took it to the dealer today. Service Manager listens to the AC cylcling every 9-10 seconds, and goes and talks to the mechanic. He comes back 10 minutes later, and says "Both of our mechanics say that it's supposed to cycle around those times on these hot, humid days". We did put a thermometer on the AC vent, and it reaches 52 degrees. He said there was no problems.

Everytime I've heard of AC compressors quick cycling, or short cycling, it's always been 1-2 seconds on, 1-2 seconds off.

Is 10 seconds on, 5 seconds off quick cycling? Dunno.....
