Just installed one of these units on my 13 ram . Everything done as per intructions . Tailgate is not closing properly , there is rubbing from the cable eye on the gate side . The latch on the gate seems to be a bit out of alignment when closing the gate .

Am I missing something here ? Any information / help is greatly appreciated .

you young uns are really getting spoiled by all these "helpers" and comforts. you wouldn't have survived some of the old trucks i drove in my younger days, early seventies. once had a truck, ford, only options were 4x4 and am radio. drove that back and forth from san diego to nj many times. try driving rt 70 in the middle of the summer with out ac. also, drove like a truck, not like our cushy rides. lol

OMG this is the perfect solution for my situation. The wife and little one's primary gripe with the new truck is that ram lacks the factory assist the others now have. Sweetness.

perpetrated: spoiled??? Really?
Then I guess your Ram 1500 has manual windows, no A/C, manual brakes and steering. Of course you have a manual tranny too. Wouldn't want you to be spoiled by such unnecessary luxury features.

You're welcome, Farmer. That's what this forum is all about.

My first vehicle was a 72 Datsun Pick Up, no a/c, crank windows, AM only, manual trans... Got me through high school and, because it was a vehicle, it allowed me the opportunity to separate girls from their panties.

Well that's just spoiled! My first ride was a horse and wagon, talk about inconvenient.

No matter what era we're in there will always be a generation before us that will say you're spoiled and "they don't make cars like the use to"

As for the tailgate assist, I first saw it on my father in laws sierra and always liked the idea when I opened Tundra tail gates. (I test drove a tundra) I am getting one for my new ram, more for when other people open my tailgate or the wife opens the tail gate.

Well, this youngn' added it to his truck this weekend, While I appreciate how hard things were in the past to do, I have no shame in taking advantage of every modern convenience and assist I can get ahold of. I rank the tailgate assist up there with indoor plumbing. Sure, you don't NEED it, But would you really ever not prefer to use it?
