Default Just talked to Borla

Here is my response from Borla as to which muffler I could use to replace my stock muffler on my '13 Reg cab 4x4. Read and let me know if you think 2.25" out or 2.5" out for tailpipe size AND WELDED or CLAMP style muffler? Loudness on 19"? Thanks for your help. Response from Borla is as follows...

"We are running a 3” into dual 2.5” on our system, but sometimes we change the pipe diameter. I have a muffler that would work for either diameter, it also comes in two different options of weld-on or clamp-on. Here are the part numbers and links:

3” into dual 2.25” clamp on -

3” into dual 2.25” weld on - http://www.borla.com/products/proxs_...rt__40670.html

3” into dual 2.5” clamp on - http://www.borla.com/products/proxs_...t__400487.html

3” into dual 2.5” weld on - http://www.borla.com/products/proxs_...rt__40349.html

All four of these mufflers are 19” long, I am not sure what the original muffler is , but you will most likely have to add a few inches of piping to make it fit. The difference between the weld and clamp on style, the clamp on mufflers are notched when they are fitted over the pipe they will contract when the clamp is tightened to ensure a more snug fit. If you have any further questions feel free to email me back or call my direct line.

well, I ordered 3" INLET 2.25" outlet muffler. Still confused if that outlet muffler can be welded to my tailpipes? If the tailpipes are 2.25 then they would be the same size as the outlet of the muffler, but someone said they measure the INSIDE diameter of the muffler pipe, and the tailpipe is measured on the OUTSIDE! Does this make sense?

re-ordered-went with 3" in 2.5" out. That should be the correct one, I HOPE!

I think factory is 2.25", but 2.5" can be welded in.
