Arrow 3rd Gen? or 4th Gen?

If you had the choice between a 3rd Gen and a 4th Gen,what would you choose?

List reasons why.

Personally I cannot stand the look of the 3rd Gen Headlight/Bumber. Rounded nasty looking things.

Include reasons for mods too, whats easier to work with?

I also have had both and here is why I would choose the 4th Gen.

Better Interior by far. More thought and money put into it.
More places to hide things throughout the truck.
The Hemi has 390 vs 345 HP on the 3rd Gen.
Better ride due to coil springs.
More creature comforts like Auto headlights, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, heated back seats, auto dual zone climate control.

Also the 4th Gen has much better use friendly interface with the EVIC allowing you to easily change some settings in the truck. On the same hand it allows you to keep an eye on Coolant/Oil/Trans temps without a tuner.

I personally think the 4th Gen looks the better as well.

My comparisons would be between say an 08 Laramie vs an 09 Laramie.

Park the two next to each other and I would say the 4th Gen wins.

I can't comment on mods for a 3rd Gen but I know there is a huge aftermarket support for the 4th Gen.

They are all fairly identical. In 2012 they changed the name of the 545RFE transmission to the 6-whatever transmission. Still the same thing just a software change really.

2012 has a different steering wheel.

4th gen for sure! They are a huge step above the 3rd gens IMO for a lot of the reasons Arth stated in his first post.

I used to be a huge 3rd gen fan. When the 4th gens came out I hated them and didn't think I'd ever own one. Then I bought one and my view point completely flipped 180 degrees. Now there's no way I'd own a 3rd gen when you have the option of a 4th gen. They literally are nicer in every way possible.

Mods will be a little more expensive for some things on a 4th gen since they are newer and still the current generation, but not by a whole bunch and it's definitely worth spending the money on.

the engine compartment is easier to work in on a 3rd Gen
because the grille lifts with the hood
all the mechanicals are easier to work on
the sheet metal is a thicker gauge

the 4th gen looks & rides better

I'm not a fan of the headlights and grilles on the 4th gen, looks like an upside down mouth.

on 3rd gens I love the fact that I can stand/kneel on my bumper while working in the engine bay and I'm 6'2". I also like that when I look in my engine bay that's what I see, an engine not a heat trapping plastic cover with stupid shit written on it. If you are looking under my hood and don't know what you're seeing then you have no business under there period.
