I had a 97 s10 that the paint started cracking under the clear and eating through. Dealership told me it was due to rain. Turns out Chevrolet had issued a re paint on most of the trucks due to contaminates in the sealer used first stage. I ended up relaying that story at a car show to what turned out to be an owner of another dealership who reported my dealership and offered to have the truck repainted. Kills me what dealerships will do to get out of warranty work.

Dodge has a problem with there paint sticking to plastic. I have repainted four durango bumpers in the last 3 months. I run a bodyshop . None of the 3 car dealerships in the county have a body shop so we are it.

Its not as bad of a problem as they were having back in the 90's (painted for a dodge dealership back then) They are not using the right sealer on the covers. I can blow paint off with a airhose some times.

If they are not painting and fixing your bumpers it the guy writing it up and sending in the photos. A little hint clean up your truck/car before you take it up there. Paint is expensive and they are using as little as they can get by with. This is another reason its coming off. Ford and Gm do not have this problem near as bad. Its been years since I have done a ford or gm warr. paint fix.

If you left the bugs on there for 30 years, I may believe it.. But one month? That's BS. Clean it off good and take it to a different dealership.

I'm glad the guys at the dodge dealer here are reasonable..

Every month. They have a problem. This is a VERY small dealership (seven people work there total) and I have one a month . Going to fix a durango next week. The Durango seem to be the ones having the most problems.
