I did this install on my SXT, only had one connector, installed the second connector to the Bus, never disconnected the Negative off the battery, installed the factory unit, runs perfect, no issues, I do not have EVIC so I dont need to get it programmed by the dealer, if you have EVIC,. the trailer brake will work, just you wont get the info on the dash and you can't use the EVIC to preset the brake controller, you need to do it manually off the brake controller.

Default Tekonsha prodigy

i recently purchased and installed a tekonsha p3 utilizing the plug and play harness/connecting wire that was suggested for my truck (Big horn 1500 with Hemi 5.7). both connectors are under the dash, and it was an easy install. p3 powered up as soon as i connected it. i was able to adjust the settings etc and all was well. a few days later i went to hook up the trailer and there was no power to the brake controller, nothing. All trailer lights worked etc. Has anyone experienced this? i can verify there is no power to the brake controller connector under the dash.

i've seen many posts regarding the p3 and it seems as though it's an easy install and no problems, but i've got this one. Any suggestions? i am considering getting the dealer involved.

Asur, you're the first one I've seen mention it's relatively simple on the trucks a lucky few of us have :-). Can you describe it further? Ay chance of pics?
