Yup, my driver door was so loud, it would resonate in a parking garage, at home at night etc. It was like a 25 year old Buick....
I had my '11 in last week for service and they lubed it up well, I think they used white grease?

One of the fixes is better than the other. I think one of them will in the long run pick up and attract more dust and dirt particles making it worse than the other. Not sure if the WD-40 is the one that holds dirt.

It's best to clean the hinges out first before applying more lubricant. Flush the hinge with dish soap/water to get any old grease and trapped dirt out, or at least as much as possible. I use a spray bottle. Then dry and apply a lubricant, I use motor oil or any other thick oil as it will last longer than penetrating oils like wd40.

When I used to just apply more lubricant the squeak would go away for a couple weeks. now that I actually clean the hinges first they never squeak and I do this every time I wash the truck(once or twice a year).

I took mine to my dealer, Body shop foreman was going to oil it and I told him that they have been doing that since I bought it. He called one of the older guys over and he said it was the spring,(The gap between fender and door is tight too, never noticed it until about six months after I bought it.) He took pics and told me that he would have the door hinge replaced under warranty. I haven't heard anything yet but hope to soon. It is only the drivers door all the other doors are fine and all other body gaps are perfect.
