Unhappy Took the ram in for a check up today.

Decided to take my truck in since I have yet to have it fully went through. I'm thinking to myself that it won't be too terribly bad, but I was wrong...way wrong. After seeing the service manager walk out holding a big stack of papers, I knew this couldn't be a good sign.

Here's the result:

water pump: leaking and needs to be replaced

front crank seal: leaking oil and needs replaced

right exhaust manifold: broken bolt in the block and rest are severely rusted and need to be replaced

power steering gear: leaking oil and needs replaced

oh and to add the icing on the cake, I need an alignment.

So getting the word that this work can be done for $2200 was a hard pill to swallow. Needless to say I will be doing most of this work myself, but I may need some instruction with a few things.

Any input from the guys that have done some these would be great.

water pump can be done with little knowledge. crank seal is a little iffy about doing it yourself with no know how. removing the sheared/rusted bolts from the head i suggest having someone do along with the power steering. If you know what you are doing you can do an alignment with measuring tape and a few measurements but a laser rack is best. Bright side, if you are removing the exhaust manifolds great opportunity to do some headers

I wish it was the power steering pump, they told me that it is the actual gearbox itself. I know 2k is a high price for all of this.
