Why'd you remove the tune, anyway?

I know the default values on my Diablo Trinity were 222ºF, but not sure what stock really is???

I know it doesnt make sense to me either, I had it set for around 190ºF when I was tuned, but I removed the tune and back to 100% stock when our track closed for the year in September...
(no use running 94 octane when prices went crazy here).

My tune is definitley wiped from the truck, plugged it in just recently to confirm
Is there anyway the fan temp settings I programmed somehow stuck???

I remember my track bud MGRAM-10 said he ran his E-Fan for a couple weeks right after we installed it without a tune or a 180º stat and it worked fine for him too.

Our track just opened again on Friday May 03 and I will be tuning again soon,
right after my "tune-free" Ram gets it's trans inspected before the warranty is up.
...Then start prepping for my new RIPP kit. MGRAM's install turned out great 490HP on the Dyno!!!

gotcha that makes sense. I was using a 93 tune but changed to the 87 tune due to gas price. Nearly $1 more now for premium

Put it in today. What a pain in the ass to get that clutch fan bolt off. Anyways the new fan is MASSIVE and works awesome!

Thanks everyone!

Superchips had all kinds of issues in regards to the fan settings when I tried the tuner on my truck. With it tuned(even leaving the fan settings stock according to the tuner) the fan would run constantly. They did correct it and told me stock is 222deg F on for the efan. And it appears to work correctly(like stock) when I leave the fan settings stock. Maybe diablo has some similar issues with these settings as well??? Obviously, there can be errors in programming.

I've seen a few guys have done this before but what is the point of changing the fan out?

Mechanical clutch fan is a parasitic drag on your crank (HP loss)
just how much is still up for debate, but it is less drag on your engine with one less accessory to turn.

I like how replacing two stock fans with one large one frees up engine bay space.

$100 mod is worth the extra room and clean look alone IMHO.
..also makes more room for my RIPP supercharger ...coming soon.

For a 3G Ram, search "Ford Taurus E fan swap"

http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=126383

its a little more involved vs the 4G Hemi plug&play solution.
