The heads were redone by a good machine shop and he replaced the valves I also noticed that a few of exhaust valve don't seat all the way when the cam and rocker arms are installed and I have a filling the noise I'm hearing is a rod bearing

Your response was: The heads were redone by a good machine shop and he replaced the valves I also noticed that a few of exhaust valve don't seat all the way when the cam and rocker arms are installed and I have a filling the noise I'm hearing is a rod bearing

If a valve doesn't seat all the way on the compression stroke, you WILL have a compression problem!

If the noise you hear sounds like it's down toward the bottom of the engine, you may be right. If it's up toward the top, may be a lifter. It is difficult to tell sometimes. You can use a mechanics stethoscope (maybe a loaner from some car parts stores) that may help.

Good luck.

Ok i have the motor completely apart and all the valves are seating properly the 2 or 3 of the rod bearings make noise when i move them side to side not a lot of play just a little in them so going to replace all the bearings. But my question is its there any way to check if the piston rings are bad or not cuase really dont want to remove them if i dont have to.

Agreed. ^^^^^^ Since you're already there, do it right so you don't have to do it again.
