Default freon leak

i am the original owner of a 2001 ram 4x4,with a 5.9 gas engine.
it is a 1/2 ton with an auto trans
it has 149,000 original miles
the a/c system is completely original except for the hose assembly was replaced
with a dealer part about 5 years ago
it will not hold a freon charge anymore
Where is the first place a leak could be???

main seal on the compressor is the overall most common. other than that really could be anywhere, condenser, evaporator, accumulator, and any of the connections. There's a UV dye used to pin point leaks.

I'd check the ac hose assembly. I've had issues with mine. My factory one leaked, then I put a new one on from Rock Auto that was junk and leaked at the hose crimps and on top of the compressor. My new one seems to be doing ok.

But, you will need to use dye to find leaks, unless its just that bad. Also, the high pressure valve on mine wasn't sealing all the way and leaked as well.
