But just to clarify, that $700 kit is two amps, not one and a sub box where you dont have to lift the seat, etc. Most the prefab plywood ones in plain gray carpet are mediocre at best.
I saw that, but, I am already planning to run a 5-ch amp.

What I really want is a box on the drivers side that is color matched to the dark brown carpet (seems impossible to get?) and allows me to use my own sub and does not require a seat raiser. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

NET Audio. Give him a call or email him. He can make something work for you. He makes custom boxes.

Hi,
Yes, that seems to be the best lead, however, he has already stated he can't match the carpet color (maybe I am being too picky, but, it will look funny to seea black band sticking out of an otherwise brown carpeted area).

I also sent a note about a drivers side box.... I like that better because I only need a 10" driver, my duaghter sits on the passenger side in the back already, and I want to maximize the existing storage. I'm listenting to rock, a 10" 300-watt woofer is enough for me

There are usually local shops that can make you a nice fiberglass box for around 200. Throw a shallow sub polk, sundown, or jl depending on your budget and it will sound nice. I haven't seen many carpet matched boxes. I'm using a gray one from mtx with polk replacements and am very happy.

Hi all,

I went with a black carpeted enclosure on eBay. It was cheap and worked well.
I don't notice the black strip of carpeting unless I really look for it. So I think I made the right decision for me.

I went with the JL Audio Stealth box and a JL 250X/1 amp. Not over powering but solid kick and rounds out system really well. Expensive yes but you know you get great quality with JL audio ... not the loudest sub out there but I like it.
