Default Need to install an electric brake controller, advice?

I need to install an electric brake controller on my 06' Big Horn, this week. It did come with a factory towing package, and I did find the blue connector under the dash, on the left side. But it did not come with a controller. What does everybody recommend for a brake controller, had the best luck with, etc? Do I need to go to the dealer for activation, etc? or can I just wire it up, and go?

there are many to choose from. i bought an agility. pretty easy to wire yourself. my truck had two wire harnesses under the back seat compartment. follow the wire directions in the instructions to match colors to your truck wire harness and plug it in.

I have the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 and it works great. Have been using this controller across 4 vehicles and it always works great. No problems. You can buy the wire harness that plugs right under the dash in the truck for about $15 so it is easy to install.

I use this controller here:
http://www.etrailer.com/bc-2006_Dodg...2_%7E_4_Brakes

I've had no issues with it, Easy to use and it works. You'll have to manually adjust the braking power for the trailer according to weight. This was my first time ever towing a trailer with electronic brakes and I had no issues.

You'll also need a dodge specific harness to connect the controller to the blue plug in the truck. The link above comes with the harness already. When I bought mine locally, they sold it to me separately.

Got my Prodigy P2 brake controller at www.etrailer.com for my 2013 Ram Express. At etrailer, I was also able to purchase a pigtail which connects the brake controller to the trucks factory wiring connection. With the pigtail, it's all plug and play - no wiring connections to mess with. Search for the pigtail specific to your truck year. The Prodigy P2 works great. Don't think you could go wrong with it.
