Default Stock 2012 20's on a 2007 - fitment issue?

Hi guys - I just picked up a 2007 Ram which had some nasty steel rims on it. I got a great deal on some factory 2012 20's which I just installed on my truck.

The bolt pattern is clearly the same but the rims did not seem to "seat" properly ie. they did not sit flat but seemed to bob around when tightening the lugs.

Are these supposed to be a straight swap or is there some other consideration I am missing? The truck seemed to drive ok but I figured I should make sure I am ok before I start driving all over town.

Thanks,

should be a straight swap. I bet nothing wrong, just the weight if the wheels hangin while ur tightening up. as Long as it tightens up snug and doesn't wobble when u shake it or when driving u should be fine. take it for a test spin and see what's up

The 2012 sport rims sure look fantastic on the 2007...so I want to believe that there should be no issues

To be honest though the rims really did not seem to want to sit flat which is really weird, I have never had this before. Also the lug nuts from the 2012 did not want to go on, threading appeared slightly different which would be weird because the nuts looked the same (I just used the old ones). Has anyone else experienced any such issues?

I had my wife drive the truck while I followed - it "feels fine" when it is being driven. What I can say is that when the truck hits a bump it appears that the front wheels bend a bit in or out. Could this be the articulation of the suspension or is there another issue here?

Again, feels pretty good on the road bumps or not. And the rims definitely did not seem to seat very flat.

Just an update on this - I put the truck on my father in law's lift and took the wheels off to take another look. Basically they did not seat nicely because of some corrosion on in inner hub (dont know what else to call it) of the rim. I used a steel brush and cleaned them up a bit and put some greese in there and they slid on nicly and seated well. It is a bit of a tight squeeze.

They may have been fine before but I feel much better about it now!
