Hey!
Sometime back in the late 90s the guy that designed the 98-02 Dodge Ram traveled into the future to find out the exact size of the Ipad 2. He then designed the dash of the dodge to fit it exactly like a fookin lego.
Observe:

Anyway, I am in the middle of this install. The iPad just sits in there perfectly. I only had to remove one tab. I am relocating one of the two center vents to the right under the air bag lock.
Should have the face plate ready for paint by tomorrow. I will upload fresh pics on completion. Easiest iPad install ever!

An iPad is perfect for older vehicles without newer touch screen electronics. But no other vehicle fits a iPad 2 like this Dodge that I know of. It snaps in!

Great looking install.

How do you have it hooked up to the speakers? I'm assuming an aux to rca adapter hooked up to an amp?

Is there an ipad radio app to pick up FM radio stations, or are you forced to use the internet for radio?

Hi,
I will be hooking the iPad up through a iStreamer for charging and digital to analog signal conversion, then through a Audison Bit one processor with remote volume and Sub/Etc. control which I will be mounting on the dash, it then goes into my Kicker 700.5 amp which has 4 kicker separates, and a 12" dual coil Solobaric subwoofer. The system sounds amazing. It has Pandora but I have 20 gigs of quality music on my iTunes which sounds the best. I am not sure about local radio, I hate the South Florida stations so I never tried. You can use a 3G or 4G iPad or hot spot module or even use your phone as a hotspot for internet access while you drive. This is my method but there are much cheaper ways to go about converting from digital to analog and controlling the volume and sub level.

Got the faceplate done this morning. Painting it black tonight! The curves are all smooth, I think it will look factory when it is finished.
