Default newbie looking for diesel mechanic, Baton Rouge

I apologize if this is in the incorrect sub-forum, but forgive me as I'm a newbie and I did not see any other appropriate sub-forum titles.

I'm new to the Baton Rouge, LA area and am soliciting recommendations for a reliable honest mechanic for my 2000 Ram 2500 diesel. I've gotten screwed over in the past from multiple mechanics, from a dealer (owner went to jail for fraud, never recouped the $2k+ he took for the transmission he did not replace) to an independent guy who was still unable to fix squealing brakes he installed after bringing it back 3 times.

Friends have recommended I solicit the forums for recommendations; apparently Cummins owners are die-hard and would know the best mechanics in my area.

Sorry I can't help you with the Baton Rouge area, as I'm up around Shreveport. We have several members from "down south" who I'm sure will have a recommendation.

Welcome to the fourmz. I'm sure you'll find lots of good info here, and even some stuff that you didn't even realize that you wanted to know

Be sure to stop by the newbie section to get a proper welcome!
