Lightbulb Bed options on Ram 1500 crew cab

Not sure this is the right spot to post this .. Umm.. No doubt I'll hear about it just the same. That said, Does Dodge have any plans on offering different bed options for their crew cab 1500 other than the standard 5'-7" bed length currently offered. Also, any truth to Dodge dropping a diesel in their 1500's in 2014?

They also offer a 6'4" bed in the CC. It was a late availability 2013 option and will continue on the 2014. There is also a diesel as a 2014 option (later in the year). See the 2014 forum for discussions.

I'm thinking the diesels will be more of an early 15' option based on dealership feedback. Chrysler is, reportedly, still weighing feedback/opinions on this one.

I dunno....

The long bed causes the rear door of the CC to be shortened considerably. Ingress and egress becomes very tight and somewhat cumbersome to negotiate. Rear space obviously is reduced. There is no free lunch.

I don't have a Ram (yet) but in following the forums and gathering info, I am not sure this ^^^is accurate. For the CC with the 6'4" bed, the wheelbase goes from 140" to 149". Also, in the pix below, you can see the space difference between the fuel cap and the back of the cab is definitely greater on the 6'4"CC (red one). I tried posting the photos but when I previewed it all that showed were blue boxes.
