Thanks BCRAM I'll check it out n Paul I wouldn't go back to my dealer if they were giving away free 392 hemi upgrades & free lift kits... They gave me such headache & runaround when I first got my truck in regards to many visible issues that I admittedly so didn't notice like a dope when I picked it up. I wrote a long post on it but any ways I use another dealership now & they're much better w/ regard to service so far. I appreciate all your help here pals I truly do. It's funny though I must say I threw a post up here a while back in regards to seeing a brand new ram stuck on the shoulder of the H.O.V. lane in the L.I.E. I passed by & seen their drive shaft just sitting there on the ground disconnected from the rear diff! I felt bad for them & would've stopped to help / see what happened but I tend to like to mind my own business & didn't think stopping in such an unsafe place to be nosy was a smart thing to do. So anyways I posted that incident up here & was hushed by the brand loyalists & those who thought I was being paranoid. Who's paranoid now .

If I plug my VIN in the Ramtruck recall site it still says nothing outstanding. 8/11 build date. I will try it again in a couple of weeks.

mine (2010) 2wd is in the dealers shop now for the recall. The pinion seal was leaking and when I replaced it I noticed the pinion nut was very loose. I replaced the seal, snugged up the pinion nut and hauled ass to the dealer for the recall. Got a call last nite that they are replacing the ring and pinion gears, when they can get the parts, but cautioned me that the replacement of the ring and pinion gears is a temporary fix until Chrysler decides what to do about the problem. Then when "parts are available" I have to take it back in and do this all over again. 3 days with the truck, what a PITA!! Apparently, it is not just a missing dab of Loctite that is causing the problems. Anyone else know what the true fix to this nonsense is? Has anyone called Chrysler and gotten an honest answer yet? Thanks

Just received a New Recall Update to13V-038.
It's not a Locktite problem as originally thought!!

2009 -2012 Ram Trucks, Dodge Dakota ect.

(The Rear Axle Pinion Nut may loosen due to Undersized Pinion Shaft Splines)
This relates to undersized pinion shaft splines!!
Have to wonder if this was the problem in the first place.
So much for outsourcing the rear Differential! What next.
Chrysler States it could take as little as 5 hours if found defective and possibly more. Will they cover transportation costs?
What Next.
