Great Mod Ramsfan! Reps and thanks!

Next: Hide the wiring and run it to the electrical...

Awesome! Glad you liked it.

After I tapped into the hood light it dawned on me that it is a constant power source unless you are able to tap into it after the merc switch. I wasn't able to do this because it is actually part of the light assembly. So what I opted to do was buy a remote controlled rf switch which allows me to turn the led's on/off with a key fob remote control. Link below.

Of course if you don't want to do this you could always run the positive to the positive on the battery and the ground to the ground nut that's located right behind where the filter box sits. You could run the wire in some small wire loom to keep it tidy.

I may wire up some more lights if I can find a tasteful way of adding them. I will make one central switch that lights everything under the hood. I can add on as I go.

My wife was worried that the light would void the warranty on the truck LOL

Haha. No matter how many time we say it, "Wives just don't understand". Ha. You know its funny you should say that because I am working on an idea that is pretty cool. Let me know what you think. BTW, there are versions of that control box that have multiple inputs as well as different lighting effects. Strobes, fade on, fade off, etc... Just an idea.

I want to get a replacement hood insulation panel (the black ratty thing on the underside of the hood) that is made out of either stainless steel or a black felt like material that would be easy to clean and or remove. There is a guy that makes these things I think in Michigan, and I would like to put a Ram Head right in the center of it. Not sure exactly what style yet. On the Ram head I'd like to run at least a 5mm led for each of his eyes. Whatcha Think? Too Much? I was thinking for shows and meets etc...

I like the idea. How hard is it to take off the hood piece?

Not very. I may have to get some replacement clips to hold in into place once I'm done but that's to be expected.
