Hey guys I was just looking around ebay for 2002 Dodge Ram accessories and what not, and I found this cheap dual air intake, what would you guys say...

I've seen one of these things on a customers vehicle and they're garbage. It is NOT a CAI but rather a hot air intake which sucks heated air right out of the radiator and defeats the purpose of a CAI. Save your money and get a good system that will actually pull in cold air and has a divider of some sort to keep engine compartment heated air out.

Wow....Yeah know, if there was more thinking into building a dual CAI, ie putting the filters in a better position to allow the system to suck in actual cold air, that may be worth buying...In this case, its not worth it...Like what was mentioned above, its only sucking in hot air, and make you lose power, and defeats the purpose of a CAI...And, then again, a dual CAI would not necessarily pull in more air to your engine, because the TB is only so big and can take in only a certain amount of air at a time...IMO though, but you never know, someone may make a better dual CAI one day, and have the numbers to show that it increases power....But, i doubt it...

Naw..find one that allows you to get true cold air.

Of course, you could come up with extensions and tubing to make that work with this unit but I suspect this is a crappy chromed plastic tube that's gonna transfer a lot of heat to your intake anyway.

Frankly, I'd pass this one up.

The tubing is metal, but the design is just plain crap. They would have been better off turning the tubes upward and cutting a hole in the hood.

Talk about a true "Ram" air system! That could work if you lived somewhere that doesn't get a lot of rainfall.

Wouldn't work here...we get a LOT of rain.

I'd suggest some form of CAI that allows you to isolate the filter end from the hot air of the engine bay.

For instance, right now I run a Volant that ties into the inner fender and takes intake air from there:



I've seen other intakes that put the filter down low below the engine bay and tucked up against the front fascia. They work to isolate the filter but you have to be careful of high water (even deep puddles if you are moving fast) because you can suck up some water and hydrolock your engine.

I think it's a cool setup , but I agree with it pulling in warm air . There are several companys out there that make a similar setup but the tubing is routed up to the front of the vehicle where you can make it pull in outside air .
