Well I got some bad news today. First of all, the dealer tried to sneak in some terms on price, saying that the price quoted includes an estimated $1500 in rebates. I told him this would not fly, and he seemed receptive, but then he mentioned that in order to mark the truck as "sold" it has to be built first, and he couldn't guarantee that would be done by 9/18, which is the date I have to buy by in order to avoid paying $2k in sales taxes. I have another dealer who is willing to mark the truck sold by that date, but he is wanting a grand more for the truck. This whole process is stressing me out to the point I just want to give up on ordering a truck.

Placed another order today with a different dealer. It turns out the RamBox option wasn't being charged properly. It was originally marked as a zero dollar add, but the invoice is supposed to be $1101. Updated numbers:

MSRP: $55,710
Invoice: $50,813
My "out-the-door" price: $49,560 minus any factory rebates available by 09/18

Not as sweet a deal, but still pretty good. They cut into 75% of their holdback. I'm just glad to have an order in, finally.

Astonius,
This happened on my build as well - don't think it was the dealer's fault, it was the messed up configurator process from Chrysler. Keep in mind they can change the pricing any time they want up to the time you sign the papers....
Just got my Limited tonight; ordered on May 17, Delivered August 21 [13 1/2 weeks]....Ram cost at $1,100 was added after order was submitted...

Yeah, he sent me the order sheet. It was definitely a Chrysler issue. Oh well. In the grand scheme of things it probably won't make a big difference. Knowing how often I trade vehicles I'll probably have this truck for a year anyway. Fingers crossed that's not the case, but I tend to get the new car bug every 10-12 months. Congrats on picking yours up! Hopefully it's everything I imagine it to be.

Yep for some reason they had the Rambox included in the Limited Package on the ordering system when it was not, but the Air Suspension wasn't listed but is included. Overall very confusing for the dealers and consumers.

cjgerson:

Where did you find the info about Granite Crystal availability for the 2014 Limited.

As a result of your post, I decided to delay ordering a 2014 Limited until Granite Crystal is available. I presently have a Granite Chrystal 2013 SRT8 Charger and this would be my 1st color choice for a Limited.

There are a bunch of fleet websites that have the holds posted such as this one.

9/9/2013 is the estimated production date.

So far [coming from 10 years of Chevy Avalaches] I am pretty impressed with the air ride suspension - very different than my avalanche. Since I got the 6'4" bed I am still getting used to the wider turn radius. Note that I have only had the truck 2 days, but I am pretty happy so far. This weekend is when I get to really dig into things.

Didn't mention it before, but I also got thrown in for free nitrogen in the tires, a rambox holster kit, and a rambox cargo management system kit installed, looking forward to playing with them this weekend [w/pics].

Need to look into the weathertech floor mats, as while the limited mats are nice they won't hold up to a midwestern winter.... also noted the nice tire 'wet look' spray the dealer added to the tires slings real nice all over the rear quarter panels without any kind of mud guards....thinking about adding them as well...

Wow, nice deal on getting the extras thrown in. That's around $500-600. Don't have much need for the holster kit myself, but that cargo management system looks nice.

Do you notice a big difference with the long wheelbase? I test drove a short bed but ordered the long bed. I was a bit apprehensive about it, but I liked the additional RamBox space. Parking the short bed wasn't too bad, but then again I've never owned a truck this big before.
