Default So You want tow mirrors....

I have been spending the past couple months doing major rust repair and repainting on my truck. One thing that has always bugged me was the crappy mirrors (chrome). So I set out to figure out how to put later 2nd Gen tow mirrors on. I ended up getting a set for free from a buddy. Power and heated!! only problem is the driver mirror is cracked so I will need to replace that but its alot cheaper to only buy one!

Bolt pattern is the same so physically they bolt right up. Make sure to use the brackets so they don't bounce around due to the added weight. Now for the fun part figuring out how to wire them up. After a couple min with a DVOM and a couple wiring diagrams it seemed pretty simple. Both sides are the same as far as wiring color goes. I opted to cut the old connectors off so i can unplug them if i need to remove the mirror.

Connector Mirror

Green Blue
Red Yellow
Blue White

Connect those wire together and bam you have working late second gen tow mirrors on your early model!

I cant guarantee this will work on every year but it worked on my 96. Mirrors I used Were from a 01.
Now all that's left is to figure out a way to hook up the heat
