Hey bear....if ya want the ram heads to really stand out, get some red paint and paint the background red. makes the emblem stand out. and just as a hit, the front one comes off and the backing separates from the ram head for easier painting. There is a pic in my profile that you can see the front emblem with the 2-tone paint.

I did the emblems, grill and front and rear bumpers. I just peeled off the front bumper because I am trading it in and wanted to make sure the dealer knew it was all chrome and not black. Spraying it on with the can was easy, but peeling it off really showed me where it wasn't even and there wasn't a lot of spray, which made it a pain in the ass to remove. A powerful pressure washer will take it off easily once it starts peeling.

I put some hash marks/war paint on my (black) truck, and during a car wash the corner of the dip started to come up. well i ultimately wound up just peeling them off and said id do a better job next time and more coats. ANYWAY, after peeling them off, there is a fine line where the edges of the stripes were and it's annoying as hell to see them there. anyone know of how to get these lines off? i tried an eraser wheel and working it with my nail but didn't make much progress. i'll try to snap a picture come morning.

Can't imagine it doing anything to the clear coat or the paint. Have you tried using a micro fiber cloth and wiping it off? I've experimented with different colors and patterns on my truck and haven't had anything like that. A pic would be great. Hope it comes out, the stripes, that is.

I'm interested in how you got the red in there. Did you do it before or after you sprayed the emblem black?

The front emblem on the 4th gen Rams comes apart, so you can do the background separate from the Ram. It's a little tougher on the 3rd gen Ram. I had to take a very small paintbrush and fill in the background. It's doable, but you gotta have patients.
