Default help with misfire 02 ram, 4.7 liter

Hey guys,
I am having a heck of a time finding a misfire in my 02 4.7 liter. There is no trouble code showing up.
I have cleaned the throttle body, can't find any vacuum leaks, changed spark plugs, all injectors are working and all coil packs are good. I have ran a couple of fuel injector cleaners thru it and still I get a pretty bad misfire when accelerating pretty hard.
I had a shop run a diagnosis and found nothing. They suspected a bad cat converter because of the temperature difference before and aft of the converter and from the way the exhaust smelled and the sound they heard from the exhaust so I had it removed and now there is no converter but it still misfires.
Also I found the no. 7 cylinder spark plug was burnt out after only 3,000 miles. The tip pf the plug where the spark occurs is burnt off all the way down to the ceramic part.
Why would it burn out so quick? I replaced that plug and still have the skip or misfire.
Any ideas?
thanks and keep on rammin'

Sounds like pre-ingnition. Double check your firing order. What sparkplugs are you using?

I hate to say this but think maybe you have the same problem I had with 2002, Head Gasket and possible warped head. What you need to do is a pressure test on the cooling system and then check each individual cylinder for coolant. I would probably start with number 7 as that seems to be the problem area. And by the way coolant mixed with your gasoline mixture in the cylinder will cause that spark plug to burn up very quickly.
