Default Torque converter issues

A friend of mine has a 04 2500 2wd with the cummins.
He had the trans rebuilt and a new TC installed at the time of the rebuild (triple lock up). The TC gave issue for a few days until the changed a part in the trans that was wrong.
Since the rebuild they have had to rebuild it again due to the trans cooler failing they replaced the TC again at this time. Well it's back in the shop with the TC giving issues again.
He uses this truck to pull mowers usually 4 gravely 60" commercial series. I have pulled the trailer for a day with my 1500 with the 5.7 for a day and it didn't seem to heavy.
My question is should he get away from the triple lock up and use something different?

Thanks he is still waiting to hear about it. The tranny guy is one of the best around and has been taking care of the issue free of charge and all parts have been covered under warranty. He told me today if he gets it back and has more issue he will put a new trans and TC from dodge
