Default TSB's performed

Reading through several older threads here and I've seen a bunch of TSB's listed that came out after my build date. I bought my '09 in September but I only recently found out it was an October '08 build. (The one thing I didn't think to check out!)

I just went in for my first oil change and the J12 recall. When I picked the truck up the service writer didn't say anything about any TSB work and there is nothing on the paperwork I got. I assume it would be listed there for the dealer to document the work to Chrysler in order to get paid.

Is there a way I can check and see if I need them without going back to the dealer? I'd really like to believe my dealer is up to date and keeping me that way but as a great American once said, "Trust But Verify".

AllPar lists the TSB's on their website, I believe. Since the TSB work was not listed on the shop order, they didn't do it.

I'd have a talk with the service writer about checking your VIN against any open TSB's for your truck. You can't verify this for your truck specifically by VIN...that's a dealer only option I believe.

Of course, we have some Tech's here who can probably shed a little more light on this for ya.

We need to clarify something here. Recalls are authorization for repair whereas TSB's are not unless the customer has a complaint and the vehicle is still under warranty. TSB's are guidelines for repair of known issues but once the vehicle is out of warranty, it becomes a customer pay issue. There is one exception to this rule with Chryslers new policy regarding services flashes for control modules. There is a thread with all the info in this section.
