Default Sway bar bracket snapped.

I'm posting to see if anybody else has had this happen to them. I was driving today doing about 15mph through my downtown on a flat strait road and heard a snap and metal bouncing along the bottom of my truck. Sure enough a chuck comes shooting out the back.
It turns out to be the bracket that holds the front sway bar bushing on the passenger side to the frame. It snapped off at the bend for the bolts. I have just under 10K on the truck and they have pretty much all been paved road. Some dirt but never mudding or off roading yet. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow since it is still under warrenty but I have never heard of this just happening. I have a level kit 2 1/2 in level kit on and am running 35's but I can't see that being what caused it.
Any ideas or advice on this? I hope the dealer doesn't give a hard time or I will loss my $#!t but I'll see tomorrow.

Yes pics pics pics! The unfortunate thing is your dealer could charge your leveling kit with the breakage so here's wishing you luck bud.

Well after being able to look at it in the daylight it seems that the bottom bolt backed out and came off and the movement snapped the bracket.
Called the dealer this morning and he can't get me in until tomorrow.
They said well you will have to leave it overnight......I said "WHY, you opened 20 minutes ago and I can be there in 10 minutes? It is a 10 minute fix when it is on a lift." "Well were just real busy." But so be it. I haven't had the best of luck with this dealer in the past and will be looking for a new service dept.
The leveling kit was dealer installed before I bought the truck, not this dealer but it shouldn't matter since it was put on at a Ram dealer. (I think?). I'll post tomorrow and let you know what the outcome was.

That looks like a bad piece of steel to me. Man! It looks like it had been cut from back and forth bending. Kind of like the ole coat hanger bending and breaking concept. Well, since the kit was installed by a dealer then I hope this dealer takes care of you bud. I would of just bought me a set of better quality sway bar mounts and better bushings to be honest with you(i.e., Energy Suspension). Better than wasting time at a dealer service department. Like you said, "A 10 minute fix"!

Agree with Gantman, pickup a better bushing kit and sway bar mounts, there are some that have zerts for easy greasing and better polymer bushings. This is the way i would go, hope they take care of you and your truck just the same
