Default Possible trans problems

My 03 is an auto and every now and again I get a cel and get a po700 code that is a trans control malfunction. But get no dtc's in the tcm and it stays in second gear like its in limp mode. After cycling the ignition again it will shift fine but cel stays lite. Please help!

Sounds like it may be a sensor. Since it resets after a power cycle. My tranny on my 03 goes into limp mode and every shop said it was a sensor until I told them how many miles it had on it. I hope this helps

Have a dealer check it for TCM fault codes. If you have a P0700 code, there should be some other fault set in the TCM.

Full limp-in should be 3rd gear, not 2nd gear. Are you actually getting 2nd gear? If so, is the shifter in the "2" position instead of "D" (or in between "D" and "2")?
