How do you have a 700lb tongue weight on a 5200lb trailer? My tongue is ~500 on my 5500lb trailer.

Airlift 1000s are on my list of things to do, glad to see they work well.

You're on the light side for a travel trailer... Usually 15% tongue weight (tw) is recommend, when pulling a wall down the road. Open trailers can get away with less tw, but if you can carry the heavier tw, you should do it...

I guess it's just the way it's balanced. Other than putting some bricks in the front of it there's not much I can do to shift weight around.

California laws suck, but when a patrolman is going down the highway, they are not looking at your vehicle at all, unless you are squatting way too much, swaying, or exceeding the towing speed limit of 55 mph by more then 5 mph. The other exception would be towing in the hammer lane for much longer then necessary to pass.
usually Weight only becomes an issue after an accident
In West Texas and I mean "WEST TEXAS" the speed limit is 80 mph, unless you are on the "Toll Road" between Austin and San Antonio it's 85 mph.... No Highway Patrol allowed.... LoL....

You better not go over 80 out there though, the sheriffs between Junction and Ft. Stockton don't give you much over at all. Not my experience because I don't speed, but I know a few people who have out there.

Not to derail the thread, but most trailer tires aren't rated over 60mph, so be careful at higher speeds!

LT's on my TT. I wouldn't run ST's on a grocery cart...
