Default Carrying a canoe with the rambox

Hi folks,

I've got got 2013 quad cab outdoorsman with the rambox. I've also just purchased a canoe and was wondering if anyone can recommend a roof rack or even better a rack that fits into the side rails in the bed of the truck?

I've search the internet a couple of times but I haven't seen very much on the subject.

Thanks

Try searching for a ladder rack. Here is a link to a ladder rack that would probably work well for a canoe.

I am looking at Canoes and will probably go this route for transportation.

Any idea if this rack from Harbour Freight will fit with the rambox? Seems like there's not much out there that compatible. I may have to settle for a Yakima roof rack.

if you have a receiver, there is a slide in "rack" that will allow you to lay your canoe flat. and support the end that sticks out. gives you about 3 to 4 extra feet with tail gait down. i had one years ago from cabelas.

Not sure about the ladder rack with the ram box but this is another option I was considering (as the post above suggested) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pickup-2-Inc...-/390645970568
My only worry on the second option is clearance when going somewhere off road with the canoe. Good luck on your decision.

Does anyone KNOW whether or not the Yakima Whispbar S11 roof rack will mount on a 2013 1500 Quad Cab using the K548 Fit Kit like some websites indicate that it will? I cannot see how it could be possible, given the rounded contour of the cab where it meets the top of the door. I'm desparate to find a way to carry a canoe on the cab, since the RamBox has eliminated the four ("traditional" for pickups) holes on the corners of the box where I could have mounted a rack! HELP!!
