I still have some tuning bugs for MGH to adjust (running way too rich at 10.2 a/f)

and the new trans is going in next weekend, along with a new torque converter and new tune

So I took the stock tranny for its last spin down the quarter
(It protested at every shift LOL s-s-s-studder -shift!)

Still not too bad though for 4000' DA

I knew based on past track performance it "Should" have put down a 12.8 run easily
so the transmission was definitely on the way out, confirmed yesterday when it threw this code...

She's DONE!



No surprise to me at all,
and the reason I had a built trans on hand before I put the supercharger on.

Stock trans lasted exactly 2 days short of 2 months under 8psi Boost

in the famous words of Arnold....."I'll be BACK" lol

Time for an update I guess, it's been 6 long months

Shortly after installing my L&M transmission, I lost the OD frictions
(threw code for incorrect gear ratio 4th gear)

Mike couldn't get me his custom trans tuning quick enough due to scheduling conflicts with HHP.

We thought it would be okay to drive for at least a month without tuning,
...but without a quick learn and a new 3000 stall ATS TC, I burnt the OD frictions within two weeks.
Not enough line pressure in the standard tuning to hold the discs from spinning and burning up I guess.

Mike sent me replacements and will step me through the procedures,
But I decided to just park it for the Winter, now that Spring is near it's time to get ready for track season again (opens end of April)



He also sent me a whole set of like-new frictions from one of his cores for my dead stock transmission
...all on his dime, So I'm going to try and use that one as a practice trans.

If all goes well with the stocker
MY buddy Brad (MGRAM-10) and I will drop the L&M trans from my truck the following weekend
swap the new OD frictions in then re-install, along with my new Long Tube Headers.

Since I have to pull the exhaust (again) to get the trans out,
I figured I may as well upgrade my crappy JBA shorty headers
... and performance sucking stock cats with these...
