Default Tire pressure monitor reading really high

While on a long road trip i checked my tire pressure and my right rear read 30 psi higher than the other tires almost to 76 psi. Worried the tire was about to fail i stopped and checked the pressure only to find that the pressure was still the same as the other tires. Now the gauge is always high. Anyone have this happen? Covered by warranty?
