Unhappy bout to give up

so I installed my bully dog a few months a go every thing seamed to go well other than the labor knock when it was under a load like going up a hill in high gear low speed .. well since then I put a catch can on it and nothing has changed .. the only way I can get it to stop is to add octane booster to it and run it like that , keep in mind its on the regular tune and I run 93oct in the truck I get it from the same place I always did prior to the install and its the same gas I run in my cts had have no issues .. does anyone have any last ideas ???!

What Ver of the tune are you running?

if your running the 019 tune and your still having issue then you have a 30day return policy on the unit, send it back, Return it, some vehicles just can't work proper with modified tunes, it could be a whole bunch of things put together that are giving you this pinging issue, could be the gas, elevation, truck computer, engine specs, etc etc all mixed together and giving you issues, Try the Diablo and that being said get it from hemifever and have him make you a tune for your truck. He can adjust it to be very specific to your setup and issues. Cost will be a bit more if you go this route.

93 gas with ethanol can cause knock as well as it isn't true 93 gas.

I returned my BD for just this reason. It didn't work out for me. On my truck, the regular tune would knock (under load) with 93 octane. I spent too much of my time with tech support and tried three different firmware versions - all to no avail. And as you can see by your own experience the catch can theory doesn't work.

I wouldn't keep driving it while it's doing that. It's unreasonable to have to run octane booster + catch can to keep the truck from knocking. It's simply an issue of too much timing.

Sounds like another case of the pinging poodle. Switch that tuner for a Diablo
