I'm trying decide between the two for my 2010 guad cab. Anyone try both and have a preference or anyone want to highlight benefits or drawbacks of one over the other? This will be my first tonneau and I know I want to be able to use the whole bed and I want a hard cover that is secure and keeps water out. These seemed like the best options for the above reason plus looks, price, and ease of use.
I have the BakFlip G2 installed on my 13 1500. The G2 is very similar to the VP. I almost went with the VP but I was concerned with the vinyl coating fading and cracking over time. Overall I am very happy with it. A word to the wise though, the Bakflip covers are NOT waterproof. Mine is very water resistant and I get very little water in the bed, but there is still some water sneaking in. Not enough to ruin my tools or anything but it is enough to note to those seeking a waterproof cover. I've said my piece, I hope you find what you're looking for.
I don't have any experience yet with a bed cover but I did just order the VP. I like it because it looks very easy to use. The way it locks when you lock the tailgate and how flush it sits in the bed. It looks like it's not even there from the side view. That's why I picked it. Hope that helps
2013 Lonestar CC. S&B CAI. Flowmaster 50 series. 6k low beams and fogs. More to come!
I just put a roll x on my quad cab sport a couple weeks ago. Have been loving it. I was deciding between this and the VP. I am sure I made the right choice. The instructions were inaccurate but simple to install.
