Nope, thats one of the i dont like about the 4th gen

And mods cost quite a bit more, and rear suspension would be more difficult to go real low compared to a3rd gen simple flip, shackle and c notch, but EVERYTHING else is better imo...
Ive had a 05 st rcsb 3.7 auto and a 06 slt sport 5.7 qcsb to compare it with.

I went with a 4th gen because I love the new body style, however, it's been a royal pain with the performance modifications compared to my '07. The 3rd gen was a lot easier to get built up and running compared to my '09. VVT cams aren't really available or easily tuned like the non-VVT, and there's more support in the aftermarket for the 3rd gen than the 4th gen, and it's been out for almost 5 years now.

I prefer the 3rd gen 1500's over the 4th. I am not really one that cares for luxery and all the fancy built in options.. Don't need heated seats and seperate climate control and such. I love being able to stand on my bumper and in my engine bay at 6'3. I will also take leaf strips over rear coils any day. As I work for my dad's RV dealership and my trucks hauls every once in a while and we always get customers with 4th gens... The suspension between 3rd and 4th makes a huge difference in hauling.

But we just bought a2013 Cummins 3500 Dually coming in this week to relieve our 04 2500 Hemi and 08 F350 and my truck.

For 2500--- For sure the 4th gens, and for 3500 duellies I could go eithor 3rd or 4th gen.

Had a 3rd Gen and the 4th is far better in every way, but isn't this typical in comparing most newer models to its predecessors? The 5th Gen will probably be better than the 4th... and so on. There are exceptions, but this has been my experience... especially in the last decade.

Another thing I've noticed is that there is no longer a clear winner in the truck market. Ford and GM have nice products as well... and even Toyota is now keeping pace with its Tundra. I feel that the Ram has edged them out "slightly", for now... but competition is good for everyone.

Never had a 3rd gen, my 2012 is the first Ram I've ever even been in. I will say at first I loved everything about it except it's shifting and it's lack of power in the lower rpm range. However a custom tune took care of all that. Now the truck is awesome!!!

I've owned an 04, as well as my current 09... I have to say overall I like the 4th gen far better so far.. The only thing I think I don't like as much as I did in the 3rd gen is the coils in the back, like having the leafs far better as far as hauling and towing stuff for the farm... Other then that I like the 4th Gen far better already, in my short time of owning it compared to the many years of owning the 3rd gen...

It's a little funny how I ended up buying my first RAM. I was at my local Ford dealer waiting for 3 hours for the sales manager to decided on the deal he was going to ALLOW me to have. After finding out he was in a bad mood I decided to go to a local RAM dealership and that's how I ended up here. Imagine that!
