Default Condensor fan not spinning

I need some help tracing down why my condensor fan is not working, It may need a replacement but I was also told to check the fuses for this fan and I looked and cannot find anything, nor can I find any relays to even check, only fuses in the fuse box.

I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 5.7, ac blows icy cold until I stop, and then it slowly gets warm until I begin driving again. I know its because of the condenser.

Not sure where the relay would be other than the fuse box, but have you checked the wiring to it and the connection (pigtail) itself?

I had the same issue. I replaced my condenser fan just this past weekend. Mine wouldn't spin so I jiggled the connector and it would spin real slow. I oiled the bearings and I checked the resistance with my multimeter and it was really high, cleaned the connections with electronics cleaner and rechecked them still had high resistance. The new fan spins much faster than the old one and the a/c works like it should. It's fairly simple to replace too, you don't even need to open the a/c system.

Thanks a ton! I had a service manual before but I guess I deleted it somehow. Cheers

I hit it with a hammer the other day and could make the fan start spinning but got tired of doing this. And since I figured it was the fan motor for sure I went out today and bought a new one from Autozone. They had it for 27.99 and with my 20% off coupon it came out to 22.60+1.87(tax)=24.47! Took me 3 hours to install, wasted a bunch of time trying to remove the battery and the battery tray. Its not possible without a ton of work. You can just skip this and keep the battery in the truck, I opened the fused box up and it helped by giving me more room to push the condenser fan shroud out.

The overall job sucked, but shouldn't have to be done for another 100,000 miles. Moving the radiator out carefully took a lot of time, take your time and go slowly.

Love my new condenser fan motor, just finished installing my relays for the highs and lows, and got my inspection and registration done. Couldn't be better right now, one things left and is to get my rear view camera working again.

Awesome! I wanted to replace just the fan motor but the parts guy quoted it to me at $99. For that much I just replaced the whole assembly for $106. I'm guessing he was looking up the wrong thing.

I'm getting ready to replace my condenser fan motor and it looks like I need to disconnect the upper refrigerant line and probably the lower one as well. The upper one goes through the hole at the back of the shroud to connect to the condenser. Has anyone been able to replace the whole thing without disconnecting the lines? A well placed cut in the plastic to open the hole might work but not sure how much room I have.

you have to cut the plastic on the shroud to slip the shroud off of the radiator from the lines, I managed to do mine without disconnecting the lines.

watch these videos, they show how to do it:
