If I disengage the chime, I'm afraid I'll wear my seatbelt less, and I don't want that to happen..

I followed the sequence at work a few minutes ago and got the confirmation chime at the end. I think it worked but I will find out for sure later today.

Has anyone managed to disable the seatbelt warning light on the dash, if so how did you do it? I saw the post about splicing the wires but that seems risky.
