Well by hardwire I mean run a cable directly to the battery.

Update. Found a vac leak. And now she's running right. But when I took the truck fishing the truck died as I was driving. And only starts after sitting for a few hours. So now I'm stuck with an electrical problem. My truck is also on the side of the road with a full tank of gas.

And throttle body is cool I like the way its set up. It's kind of a do it yourself truck. All the sensors are present and visible. If you have an issue someone online has the answer. I'm glad I joined this site.

And no the light does not work. My computer works as the truck will not start unless its plugged in. Is there a speciel fuse or a bulb?

And they confirmed my alternator, starter, and battery are good. I wonder if my tos wasn't installed right it would slip and kill the truck no? Because if it sits for just a few mins its will start but die quickly.

Sure you can hardwire the alternator that way......as long as there's a voltage regulator in between. Sounds like your distributor ignition pickup is toast. It's in the distributor below the rotor. It's held in by two screws that screw in through the distributor body. Thirty bucks, give or take. It starts konking out, but will restart rather quickly. The time interval gets longer til eventually it won't start at all.

well it was going to get towed so I got it towed. they say its my fuel pump and are charging me 200 to swap it out with a new one since the new fuel pump had only 12 miles on it. but when I went in there to get the old one they told me they haven't even dropped the tank yet. I don't know if they are trying to screw with me or are trying to help since they could have charged me for a new one they bought. this is why I don't go to a mechanic. especially since the fuel pump is free so I can swap it out myself. instead of 200 dollars.

that sound plausible. when I go there today im going to go through the truck myself and have them diagnose it before I get charged.

Of note, if the distributor pickup is bad, the ignition signal stops, and the computer tells the ASD to shut down the fuel. Your pump may be fine.

Default wow.

Alright iv had a few issues here. But this is by far the most annoying. The wire to my battery from my alternator is bad. My fuel pump was fine its just the spark plugs had no power fire. The mechanic charged me for fixing it yet as soon as i got home it cut off. Iv seen a dieect wire to the battery but iv been tinkering with it and nothing seems to work. I got it to charge however when i put the wire on on all three prongs sticking out. But when i turned off the engine to attach the wires permanently i heard what sounded like the ignition turning on like when you turn the key. So im pretty sure thats not how it goes. I have a 100 amp inline fuse and the wires i just cant seem to figure it. If anybody has the solution id be more then appreciative!!! I got it running right, with all the help from this website. After this its all down hill! Then we can see her shine!
