Actually its the stickers that had wrong information that started the entire issues. But not all stickers were wrong.

Due to some incorrect window stickers, and at least one report of an incorrect build sheet (as compared to the diff. that was actually installed on a Ram) the label on the driver's side of the rear axle is the best way to verify the actual installed ratio and if it is an LSD or open diff. Here is the cross reference of the part numbers:

"positraction" is old school term for "Anti-spin" or "Limited Slip differential". Meaning both rear wheels will turn if the main Right rear wheel spins with no traction the left will begin to pull as the right slips. Excellent feature always needed when you least expect it. When you have it folks never knew it helped, but with out it you will find out fast enough when right rear wheel is stuck or spinning.

3.21 axle, 8 speed, hemi. Moves fine for me, MPGs are pretty good with only 900 miles on it so far. Yet to tow anything though, so the jury is out on that still.

Mine is a 3.21 LSD, verified on the axle as well. (Hemi/8spd.) It's got more capacity than we need (and we probably don't even 'need' 4X4, but time will tell) for towing, since short-range hauling is more what we will be using it for. No snow, and totally flat here, so I'm expecting it to never be an issue.

While I can appreciate the stump-pulling grunt of a 3.92, there's something to be said for the smoothness this combo has. Maybe it's just middle age (and my back, knees, and shoulders) talking, but I was surprised at how refined it felt for the amount of power it has.
