Default 2013 1500 level or lift?

Hey all.

Bought my truck brand new on August 30th (big horn quad cab) and already have a Rough country 2.5 level kit ready to be put in....after some searching of the forums, it seems that many have issues with a vibration or wobble in the front end due to the leveling kit being installed...can anyone share any sort of experience with this particular kit? Lifts the front 2.5 inches and the rear 1.75 inches. I am considering not even using the leveling kit and instead saving up for a 4 inch lift from rough country or from another company, if anyone has suggestions?

This is my first brand new truck and I am willing to take the time and spend the extra coin to do things right the first time. I definitely don't want to get the kit in, only to have issues.

Does it seem like there are less or no issues when going with a full actual lift kit as opposed to a cheap leveling kit? Or is there a good leveling kit out there that wont mess with front end geometry? Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Consensus seems to be for the Bilstein 5100 adjustables.

I was originally thinking of the RC leveling kit but changed my mind after reading many posts from other members. Blisteins will be my next mod.

You'll be fine installing the 2.5" RCX leveling kit. Very few people actually have problems with 4wd vibrations once leveled. I ran a 2.5" level in my 1500 for 9 months and never had any issues whatsoever. I wouldn't think twice about putting one on another 1500.

If you do want to go with a lift I'd recommend going straight to a 6". Don't bother with 4" as you will end up being disappointed that you didn't go higher. Especially when a 6" is only a couple hundred bucks more.

EDIT: Scrolling through the rest of the new post section I noticed you posted two more of the exact same thread in different sections. As per the forum rules you should only be posting once in the proper section. There's no need to spam it all over the forum. If you post it in the right section you will get answers.

i have had the RCX level kit in for a few months, and no issues at all. Even took a 3000km round trip up to northern ontario with the level and the 35" toyo m/ts.

will do bilsteins with the 6" lift in the future.

The wobble/slight vibration is not due to a specific kit.
If your truck does it with one kit, it will do it with another.
It's the nature of the beast with your CVs changed in angle.
Most don't experience this though and if they do its very light

thanks, guys. really not sure what to do at this point haha. I do not plan on going bigger than 35's, so i feel the 4 inch lift kit would be sufficient. haven't seen pics of a 6 with 35's yet tho, so i'll look around for some. Like I said, I want to do it right the first time, so that's where my concern was.

Check out my lift thread linked in my signature below. I was running a 6" lift with Bilsteins at 1.4" on 35's on my 1500. There's tons of pictures on there showing you what that set up looks like.

That looks great, man! Guess I just need to decide if I want to go with the 4 or 6 inch lift now since I'm gonna go ahead and send the leveling kit back. I think i'll be more pleased in the long run with a full lift vs the leveling kit.

Yes, a lift is definitely more satisfying.

If you're looking for a budget lift then Rough Country is the way to go. There's tons of guys running that lift with no problems whatsoever but there is the odd guy that does have some. BDS is very popular as well. If you want to spend a little more money for slightly better quality then their kit is great as well.

I personally don't like Rough Country's 4" kit though as it uses rear coil spacers rather than lift springs. For a 4" I would recommend going to Zone over RCX. But like I stated above, I would go straight to a 6" if you're going to do it.... you'll regret it if you don't.
