Default Keyless enter n go

I have it on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and I love it. This is my 1st
experience and I really like leaving the key in my pocket. (you have to
remind yourself NOT to lock the hse door and leave your keys on the
kitchen table under your magazine...lol) Anyway, just bought a Laramie
and yup... it's on there too. As far as I'm concerned it's a plus for us Mopar Guys..... Hooorah !

This was one of the options that made me want to get a Ram. We had a Charger as a rental car over the summer which we used to drive from California to Indiana and back again on vacation. It had the 8.4 entertainment system (nav wasn't activated though) and the Keyless Enter 'n Go, and fell in love with both features.

One thing I'm trying to figure out is if the remote start feature can be added. I know there are trucks that have both, but mine doesn't. Looking at the remote start system through Mopar and other sellers, it specifically states it's only for trucks that DON'T have Keyless Enter 'n Go though and I can't seem to find a part that's specific to that system. I'd like to know the options before I take it to the dealer. Any input?

It took me a couple of days to get used to leaving the fob in my pocket all the time, but now that I'm over that, I find it rather nice to have.

Hope this makes sense
Is there really a key hole behind the button? How does it "pop off"? It's frustrating to think that if you loose the key fob and don't have quick access to your spare, there is absolutely no way to start and move the truck.
thx

I know this is an old thread, but this is one feature I really wanted and my 2014 Longhorn I got recently does not have it. Now I'm thinking as sophisticated as vehicles are these days with the computers, how difficult would it be to install this after the fact?

On the Rams, if the battrery dies on your FOB, hold it up to the start button, and it will start the truck, as long as its within an inch of the button.

I love the keyless enter and go, but the button on the handle to lock the doors feels cheap and shit and I dont like using it, for fear it will break. You have to hit it like7-10x to get the truck to actually lock...at least on mine.

very difficult. New door handles on front doors, new body wiring harnesses, new key fobs, new ECM, TIPM removal, rewire and reinstallation, 2 fuses, 4 relays 8.4" radio system (to alter settings), a computer reprogram and a few other things.

Would cost in the neighborhood of $3,000 to install, and change all of the necessary components. To order it as an option is like $500 because its easier to put in as they are building the truck. If you do it after the fact, you have to take the entire truck apart. When you put your hand on either front door handle, all the blinkers flash, the headlamps come on (if you have that setting enabled), the door (or doors depending on setting) unlock.

Its alot to make happen after the truck has been built.

Unfortunately it would be very difficult and expensive. I have it and love it. Works great haven't had any problems with it. The outside button on the handle is well made and locks my Laramie with one push. The truck senses the FOB and if it thinks it's inside the truck it will not allow the doors to be locked. Just moving the side of your body with the fob away from the truck it locks every time.

Default Keyless go

I have and have had this on several Mopars and I love it. I personally have never had an issue with it.
