Default Fading Hood

Not an expert in body work, wondering if I can still save my hood. Its pretty oxidized (see attached). Maybe use a Polishing Compound? Let me know what yall think.

Man that is looking pretty bad, especially since they are upside down. when I saw that I immediately thought of a gearz episode. I don't think you you can make it look worse so check out this video. http://staceydavid.com/emvideo/modal...be/oj83pVuCnC0

that looks more like clear coat peel to me. i'd bring it to a body shop and ask for an opinion. it won't cost anything to get them to have a look and tell you if it is just oxidation or if it is clear coat peeling off.

most body shops don't charge to much to just re-spray clearcoat. i had my hood done at a local shop and they charged me 65 bux to wetsand and re clear.

thanks a lot guys, I'm going call around too some more shops when I get a minute a work. I took it to a body shop down the road and they said it had to be stripped and repainted!! quoted me $1300 for a hood! Definitely figured they were not the one to go to..haha
