Well, I finally got it in on Monday morning. The dealership was awesome in quickly getting to work on it and actually testing all of the wiring, checking schematics and talking to me about what they were finding. The service tech came out and told me that they had found that the illumination and ground is a single input / output for the entire switch assembly. He said that he assumed that but took the time to verify it before replacing the switch assembly. While I was there, I noticed that the driver's side fender flares were a little loose and without me even having to ask, they took the truck right back in and completely removed the flares reinstalled them with new adhesive tape and then proceeded to very thoroughly wash and detail the truck as well. When I walked out the door it was at a total cost of $0. Obviously it should be with warranty items, but it seems like so many placed try and find something to charge you for.
The light switch so far appears to be good to go. I do wonder if there was a bad batch of them because I did notice when they replaced the switch the first time that the light was a little dimmer than the others and this time all of them are equally bright. Hopefully it is all good to go.
If any of you ever wind up in the Black Hills area and need a dealer, I will stand up and point you to Scott Peterson Motors. From the sale to the service on this new truck, I have been overall very impressed.
