Default Will this budget air system work?

Looking to setup air horns, but on the cheap as the kids online for $300+ are a tad ridiculous.

5 Gallon tank:
http://www.harborfreight.com/5-gallo...ank-69716.html

12v Compressor:
http://www.harborfreight.com/12-volt...9284-8788.html

Plus horns, accessories, etc. Looking mostly for input on the tank/compressor setup. Welcome any suggestions..! Don't have a lot of exposure and experience with air setups, so i could be completely wrong here.

Yeah, it'll work. But where are you going to mount the tank and compressor? That tank is pretty bulky. And you have to figure out how you are going to power the compressor.

I guess I gotta be the guy to object here and say I don't recommend installing one of these. Unless your goal is to scare someone bad enough to cause them to crash. I can't see any other reason to go to that trouble.

You make a good point, Hemster. I've been next to one of these a few times when they hit it and I had to change my underwear. Scared the shit outta me.

As a truck driver I can respect a nice air horn, and I use mine all the time (In the semi). HOWEVER. for the cost of it, your better off find a little electric air horn. The kind that has the horn and compressor together, easier to mount and maintain, and usually can be had for under $100.

Look up the Wolo 415 or the wolo 125. Both could be had for under $80 online, both claim 116+ db (415 is 120 db). Never used these exact ones, but I have used a few Wolos in the past and there decent for the money.

If your plan is to use the same type of air horns for a big rig, you would need a compressor and tank capable of at least 150 psi. I am installing a 2.5 gal. tank and compressor on my truck so I will have air available when I go off road and into some very remote areas.

I think i found a kit on ebay im going to go with.. I didnt want to spend $500, so thats why i was piecing together the Harbor Freight kit. However, found one one ebay for $250, so i'll probably go that route.
