Default help- 5.2 still has misfire on #8 after plenum fix

1997 Dodge Ram Van 3500, 5.2, only 70k miles, engine strong. On a recent trip the plenum gasket failed, it started burning oil, and fouled number 8. New plug would immediately foul. Drove it home several hundred miles on 7 cylinders, had no choice. Fixed the plenum with the Hughes kit. Engine is happier now but still has a miss on cylinder 8. New plug fouls. Does anyone know how I can "de-foul" this cylinder? Dealer sold us some stuff to spray into the engine, this did not fix it. I really don't want to pull the head. I guess I'll check compression next. Any ideas from anyone? Thanks.

First thing I'd do would be to run a bottle of Seafoam through the fuel system, and another in the intake.

Do you just dump the SeaFoam straight into the throttle body?

In the tank? Yes. Intake? No. Pour some, and let run. Pour some more. Let run. Do this over several minutes. If it continues, you may have a hardware problem.

Sea-Foam now comes in a user friendly spray can that can easily be sprayed directly into the throttle body. Contact your local parts supplier for availability.

And now back to you Gen One...

Ok I have heard of guys pouring the seafoam straight into the PCV valve line right into the intake.
The spray seems like a very convenient idea

It may also be that the oil has caused an issue with the cat. You may also want check/replace the cap and rotor, as the excess oil may have overloaded the electrical circuit to the #8 cylinder.
