Default Debadging the easy way!!

Wanted to help save everyone some time and pain so I'm posting this of a few different headings.

If you're going to debadge I found out the right way to do it. I tried all the solvents and nothing worked w/o a lot of hard work. To save fellow members a lot of pain and time check out this youtube video recommended to me by fellow member (Bowieknife)

I took off 4 badges last week in about 1 hour with fishing line and solvents of all types, nothing worked very well. So after allowing my fingers to heal, Today I took off all the remainder badges about 12 off them in 20 min by using this video on youtube.

Its all about the finger motions. I'll throw this in my bag of tricks for some debaging this weekend.

I'll stick with my 3M eraser wheel. I've tried that on 2 vehicles and could never get the stuff to roll properly before it'd break or start to smear.

I have never debadged my truck minus then taking off the dealership logo but I remove and replace the decals on RV's all the time and wouldn't a heat gun or a hairdryer and maybe a drop of solvent to get any loose remaining pieces off pretty fast?.. I know my dealer decal which was about 4" by 2" took about a minute in total to do.. Same as the 3m velcro tape that was on my headlights from my tinted covers.

Just debadged my truck, found out that a small silicone pan scraper made the job much easier.

Using the silicone pan scraper helper lift the edge of the black sticky stuff and let me work under the edge and then while pulling the black stuff back let me work right where it was still stuck down. Total time was about an hour and as soon as the wife gets back with the goo gone I can go clean off the residue/badge outlines.

I've posted this video on here before and had a few people say the same things. Everyone has their own way of doing things and no doubt it works, the demonstration in the video is what worked for me. My truck was over two years old when I decided to debadge it and I used his method and it worked flawlessly. It didn't even leave any residue from the glue on the tape! I had a body shop remove my pinstripe. They used and eraser wheel and I can still see where it was.

That 3M Eraser Wheel is an amazing product.

Good to know. I've taken off small badges with dental floss and not had any tape residue. Nice to have a back-up plan if I try to take off larger badges and do end up with tape on the truck.
