Default Whistling/squealing sound

Ive been hearing this whistling or squealing sound since about the time i installed my tb. Its only at low rpm maybe up to 2k then it goes away. Is it from the tb or? Any ideas?

Did you put a TB spacer on also? That would be the answer if you put on a spacer

Did everything link back up correctly? IT could just be a leak somewhere along the air intake that's loose. Maybe something you just didn't tighten all the way or that slipped once it was put back on

I thought I'd chime in on this. I also have the same noise from installing Moes 87MM TB. It's been in for 5 months I guess. No, problems from it. I thought it was from the lip at the intake plenum(it's 83mm), TB being 87mm tapering to 84mm. Took the TB off and ported the Intake plenum to 84mm. Same noise. TB really needs to be polished.

Ive taken everything off and put it back on again still there. I wonder what the cost of getting it polished would be? And any pros of it?

Polishing should net .8-1 hp gain, give or take a couple of points. I never put the stock TB on to see if the whistle went away. The 87mm was the second mod I did at the time, BT catch can was first. The whistle definitely started with the 87mm TB install. Polishing would also help with less air turbulence, the whole Venturi effect is kinda mute at the TB because of the large volume air chamber of the Intake manifold and no mixing of gas like carbureted vehicles. Air velocity slows dramatically just past the tail of the venturi. The intake runners are where the venturi is most important but turbulance slows air speed and that is never good, as well as too big of a TB. The ported 87mm works great it just has made my trucks acceleration laggy past 90+ compared to the stock 80mm. I just want to try different combos. I'm gonna try a SharaDon Performance 84mm TB at some point. Then I'll have the 3 TB to use and compare. When I do a cam swap, I'll want the 84mm for sure.
