As I said there's a place for them, and I only lump them together with other CAIs when comparing them to real performance systems designed to optimize flow velocities, and sadly none exist for the Ram without modifications.

I wish S&B made one for my SRT10, that being said, in the case of the Viper truck the OE CAI with a K&N drop in made the same and in a few instances more HP than all the available aftermarket CAI's made, great design from the factory. So in some cases the OE setup is better than aftermarket ones. This only relates to the SRT10 truck though. If I had a Hemi RAM again it would get the S&B hands down........

i have the S&B and i wish i got the Vararam intake only because the way it looks. I dont think you can go wrong with either brand though. The difference in power gains between Vararam and the S&B wouldnt even be noticeable id imagine. So id say buy which ever one you think looks better to you. Also one thing to consider is the S&B is in a closed box where the Vararam is some what open. So the Vararam id imagine will give you more of an aftermarket intake sound which i dont hear with my S&B unless i floor it up hill.

Actually almost opposite from what would think until they have ran one, the Vararam is relatively quite, and not much louder than stock at all.

I went with the SB quality is perfect looks great sounds great. I even ran it with the plexiglass cover and found no difference in sound quality at all so I put it back on I know maybe its my ears but with my cat back and this it seems much more responsive and really sings over 4 grand

It's a little bigger with a slightly different location.

It's tucked up closer to the firewall than the OEM.

Looks a lot better.

OH FORGOT TO MENTION, the filter they use is an S&B filter so you are getting top notch filter match with top notch craftsmanship can't go wrong

The CAI I am talking about is the LMI feel free to check them out here is a couple pics. Each unit is hand crafted from raw carbon fiber!

(don't mean to mix it up just have to let everyone know of other options, of coarse the Vararam and S&B are still excellent products you can check out the Vararam's here http://bullysperformance.com/vararam...rucks-126.html)

Full Leg Maker Intake Line

Thanks for the read (sorry for the sales not generally my style but this is truly a product to be considered and everyone should know )

Jeremiah
Hi Jeremiah,

I installed the Leg Maker short ram intake last night and I must say that I did feel a big difference in throttle response. I like the way it looks however, I could not get it to fit right without removing the engine cover and keeping it off. Is it suppose to fit without the cover?

I would like the leg maker more if the filter was dropped down a bit more, similar to how the AEM Brute Force was on the 3rd gens.
