Default Rear Whine...New Question

My '09 Ram has a slight whine from the rear end ONLY between 47 and 52 mph. As a side note, I recently heard the exact same whine in a brand new Charger.
Back in the day, it would be referred to as a "harmonic" and manufacturers would often tune it out with exterior weights. I thought I might try to control it by adding a sound dampening material to the underside of the bed and cab. I also thought about shooting some of it on the stamped steel dif cover, but don't know if that would allow heat to build up in the rear end. Could also try a cast aluminum cover, but that would be an expensive experiment.
What say you experts???

Default Noise

If it's a bearing, why would a new Charger... 148 miles... make the exact sound at the exact same speed?
An additional point, the whine only occurs at speed or acceleration, not when decelerating. It stops when I lift off the throttle.

Sounds like a pinion bearing going bad. OR the pinion nut has started to back off.
